the £100 outfit challenge : chiara fashion

11 December 2011

A little while ago I posted about Chiara fashion and set you guys the £100 outfit challenge! Here is what a couple of you came up with :)

So here is my outfit for the Chiara Fashion challenge. I'm slightly obsessed with wearing pretty, feminine dresses with chunky knits over them. As soon as I saw that lace dress I knew I had to make an outfit with it, but more appropriate for the colder weather.

And I would totally wear some tights with this outfit as well :) Thank you for having this fun challenge!

Some great ideas I think you'll agree! Be sure to visit these lovely girlies blogs and of course the chiara fashion website for some gorgeous and very affordable fashion.

the £100 outfit challenge from ashllyd : h&m

22 November 2011

Presenting Ashleigh's £100 outfit challenge entry for h&m.. I like it! Hope you do too :)

shoes £19.99 | jumper £19.99 | skirt £19.99 | shirt £7.99 / £3.99 sale | bag £14.99 | tights £6.99 2pack 40denier | earrings £5.99 | owl ring £3.99 | pink ring £3.99

I knew as soon as I began this challenge that I wanted to make an outfit using a black midi skirt. I fell in love with it's femininity straight away. I decided to opt for the slight mix of feminine and masculine materials because I think they look great together and can really dress up and down an outfit. The jumper is one of my Autumn favourites from H&M's collection and I knew I wanted to layer it with a plain white shirt. You could even pair it with a mustard shirt to match the animal motif, however I couldn't find one and I do think the white shirt breaks it all down a little so it's a muted outfit, perfect for a date, for a meal with friends or even shopping. I saw these wedges in my local H&M last week and knew they would be comfortable. They're super light and have a chunky platform both at the front of back which makes them easy to walk in and perfect for any occasion. They also do a lovely grey colour! I don't think I'd personally buy the tights from H&M as you can get a lot cheaper at somewhere like Primark (I could have chosen a little something else too, damn!). I love the rings. I think it's important to add a little bit of colour into a black and white outfit; even if it's just a nail colour or even a lipstick. I love the way the owl's eyes match in with everything. I didn't choose a necklace because of the animal motif; you don't want to look too overdone!

total: my outfit comes in at a total of £99.91 so I shall leave it at that! Huge thank you to Abby for involving me in the £100 outfit challenge!

lots of love, Ashleigh x -

my christmas wish list

16 November 2011

It's becoming more apparent that I am difficult to buy for.. but I don't really understand that! I'm always talking about things I want :P So to make it easier for friends and family and to give you guys some ideas, here is my massive wishlist! It ranges from cheap as chips to a less sensible £225/£219 (yes you guessed it, that'll be the lulu guinness lips clutch and amazing michael kors watch) But to help along the way it is complete with links, pictures, sizes and all ;) Easy!

Of course there is lots lots more I would like, as with most girls my list is never ending but this will do for now ;)

On a similar note.. holidays are coming, holidays are coming, holidays are coming.. have you seen the coca cola advert yet? Apparently it's lingering about!

i'm craving: affordable fashion

9 November 2011

I feel like its been forever since I last blogged, but in reality it's only been 5 days. The weird thing is that I didn't really notice, I have so many things going on in my life at the moment I actually struggle finding time to do the one thing that is the reason I'm so busy. I owe a lot to be blog, it's bought me a second income (sort of), opportunities such as visiting london and bristol here and there, involvement in things like fantasy shopper and I'm always meeting / talking to new people. My blog definitely needs a bit of nurturing, especially seeing as I went and gave it a makeover recently. So my pledge to you that I will try to blog more regularly :)

In saying that, this post is about an online store that I have ordered basics from a number of times before but on recently visiting their site i've noticed they have massively upped their game. Chiara fashion is affordable fashion down to a t, literally and I love it ;) Too corny? Good..

I am still loving the colour wine and although it makes me look as pale as a babies backside (evidence) I can't pull myself away from this rich luxurious colour. Odd seeing as I have always hated red, my nan has been trying to make me wear it for years! (and years and years..) I can picture myself wearing and layering a lot of the pieces above with one another and because of that I know I could get an awesome outfit for under £100! So.. My challenge for you (though it isn't much of a challenge, let's be honest) is to send me your £100 Chiara Fashion outfit, see here for past challenge entries /inspiration. Email your outfit to - with some text if you like! - and all entries received by wednesday november 16th will be featured on my blog. (psst don't forget to tell me you name and blog name!)

the £100 outfit challenge from daisybutter : monki

31 October 2011

Given the opportunity, I would shop at Monki every day, and every night, for every occasion... Too much?! I love layering up at this time of year, like every other fashion-conscious yet practical girl out there, but I also enjoy mixing textures and colours for a unique, eclectic look. Little touches like clashes of texture makes an outfit stand out from the crowd while you go about your usual - fabulous - day, as well as giving you an I've-lived-and-experienced, "devil may care" edge. I'd wear this outfit for everyday: to Uni, a coffee date or just to see a friend: I love the clashing velvet (even though I cheated with that item!), two knits, and some patent loafers.

Total : £106  A little over.. I think Michelle will agree it's not as easy as it looks! ;) If you'd like to give it a go leave me a comment below with your email and i'll be in touch :)

Visit for more Michelle :)

the £100 outfit challenge : bershka

26 October 2011

Evening girlies! I have my second £100 outfit challenge. It feels a little odd putting an outfit together this way. Since fantasy shopper I am so used to layering the tee and shaping it so it fits around the jeans or shorts etc and there just not being a model in the photos. It makes it easier to invisige an outfit this way I think. But hey ho this is what I see when I look at bershka at the moment.. sleek leather trousers with uber soft and flattering oversized tees and shirts. That put together with some amazing gold and black accessories I found on the website and we have a definite winter warmer swanky outfit for me. I have lots of birthday dinners and drinks coming up and this is absolutely something i'll be attempting for my casually-dressy look that appeals so much these days.

shopping on another level

21 October 2011

I'd like to introduce something that has been invading my schedule, assisting me at my expert procrastination skills and reducing my imaginary bank balance ever so slightly.

We all love a good bit of shopping, it's fun, relaxing and who doesn't love to gawp at pretty things! In steps Fantasy Shopper.. where I have been and you can shop using fantasy money to buy all sorts of bits to fill your fantasy wardrobe and the bits you really like you can even click through and actually buy them, for real! So you've built up your fantasy wardrobe and now what? It's time to create outfits to go to fantasy events and style other outfits for yourself, access other peoples wardrobes and style outfits for them all the while, liking and commenting on peoples creations and that you lovvvve those boots with that skirt. We can comment on bits and bobs throughout the different shops whether it's love or hate, let your followers know and see what they have to say about those scandalously high shocking pink heels. Our feeds are also updated with other peoples purchases, meaning you can click along and grab them too or comment on their shopping habits ;) By doing all of this liking, commenting, styling and following you collect badges for the many accomplishments and goals hit which will earn you more money!

The possibilities are endless, as is the time spent on the site! (Especially mine) On top of all of that there are more cities, to shop in, the stock is updated regularly with new items that come in store, as are the events and there is just so much more that it's impossible to mention. You really do need to experience it for yourself to understand how awesome it is :)

In some ways Fantasy Shopper is like polyvore, but it's much more interactive and a lot more fun! I've grown to love my fellow fantasy shoppers, know their style and the way they must wear things in real life. As you can see from my outfits here, these are all things that I would absolutely wear and in some cases, i do. You can see my profile, the rest of my outfits and full wardrobe once joining, just click here and join for free :)

Don't forget to follow me! Let me know your profiles and i'll be sure to follow you back :)

abbzzw on paper : cup of awesome

15 October 2011

I've been putting together ideas for christmas presents and just general things I want about my house and i'll be showing you guys my ideas and the finished products as I have done with my deathly hallows bag. This installment is about mugs, cups and other crockery. I only have one page of my list of ideas to show you today. The reason being, others will remain on the quiet as some are specific to those of my friends and family that visit my blog and I refuse to ruin the surprise.

The circles represent designs for the bottoms of the cup, including the pokeball of course! I haven't used colour at all on these ideas because I want to keep an open mind as it depends who the cup is for. Aside from the obvious colours that hello kitty and other known images will be of course. I have a whole series of crafty gifts to show you in the lead up to the festivities so let me know what you think of these :) Will you be creating any crafty gifts for christmas?

the £100 outfit challenge : missguided

29 September 2011

Yes it's another new feature that is doomed to fail ;) Every now and again i'll be setting myself a challenge of creating 1 outfit from 1 store using £100 or less. The outfit must work well together and be something i'd actually wear and could wear diversely with the rest of my wardrobe. First stop, my current favourite..

When thinking about this outfit, my current state of my made me lean towards something that I can wear to work as well as casually out for a couple of drinks or over to a friends for dinner. This is absolutely something that I would wear for all of those things and feel completely comfortable in. Although I have a slight aversion to jeans (we all know i love my tights!) i find them very easy to wear and style on myself at the moment, coloured pairs especially. You can expect some more jeans outfit posts as we dive into autumn and winter. Which actually isn't such a bad thing, especially for those of you who struggle with pulling them off.

If you'd like to buy this outfit or even part of it, hurry on over to tomorrow as they will be celebrating payday with a lovely discount for us all to use :) I'll update this post when they announce the code!

If you'd like to get involved in this challenge, do your stuff. However if you'd like to feature your challenge result on my blog please email me at for details :)

abbzzw on paper : pick me ups

22 September 2011

Taking a page from the lovely Bee's book (quite literally) I have decided to actually show you some of the lists I make. Whether in my filofax, notepad, sketch book, iPhone notes or on a scrap of paper I write and draw lists all the time for all sorts of things. Rather than creating new ones i'm going to show you a lot of my existing lists that I have lying around for now.

This is one that I wrote some time ago when I was feeling down and actually referred to recently.

I hope you managed to read my messy handwriting. Is there anything you'd add to this list?

I've had a change up of my main menu as there was so much pink pattern flying about for my liking. I'm probably going to amend a few other things now that my design brain seems to of momentarily switched back on. Let me know what you think of it. Feedback is my best friend ;)
