my must haves: aussie leave in conditioner

30 March 2013

Hair rescue, nourishment, refreshment and natural waves in a bottle. Plus it smells damn good! I use the aussie leave-in conditioner every time I have curly/wavy hair. I use it straight out of the shower and once half way through the day to calm frizz and define and boost my natural waves. Without this i'd look like a lion a lot of the time - and that's enough to keep me hooked on aussie leave in conditioner!

my american must haves - help?

28 March 2013

So i'm going to America super soon and I need to know what I cannot leave the country without trying or buying - or even doing!

I'll be skiing and shopping and what to experience as much as possible whilst I'm there. From the food to the culture I know it's going to be great, but what should I buy and try?

There are the obvious beauty products - Don't come back without a Cover Girl Mascara for one .. but what else? I need your help!

Pop your suggestions a comment below. I'll be doing a follow up blog post after my holiday with mentions to everyone and everything that I tried /did /bought etc so don't forget to leave your name and link or twitter :)

philip kingsley body building shampoo & moisture balancing conditioner

22 March 2013

I've been using the same shampoo for about three years now which is so not cool! Yeah aussie is lovely and smells amazing but you're supposed to switch it up every now and again. So for the good of my hair i've been using these philip kingsley products for the last week or so.

Considering the length and body of my hair, I don't actually need to use that much each time I wash my hair - a small ball of shampoo lathers up nicely covering my whole head. I need a little more conditioner to run through the lengths but I can see these bottles lasting over a month. After using these two products my hair feels silky soft, is easy to manage and I can still leave it 2 or 3 days without washing because the conditioner doesn't leave any kind of residue. A massive win for me because I tend to prefer my hair after about a day of it being washed :) I'll continue to use these until they run out, my hair has responded really well to the change so it's likely I'll repurchase these Philip Kingsley products :)

that pastel trend

18 March 2013

Okay so the pastels aren't much of a huge trend this season but they do seem to be creeping up everywhere! Especially, mint - man I love that minty fresh colour, perfect with a complementing tan :)

I have a somewhat love hate relationship with pastels, I absolutely love to look at them! But almost always hate them on me (except here in my h&m minty jumper) - I think it's my lack of a golden sheen. At the moment i'm whiter than white but after a bit of sun to my skin and locks I know that I can absolutely wear all of these pastel items, bring on the sun!

Mint green, lavender, peach, light pink and duck egg blue - there are beautiful pieces popping up in lots of spring/summer collections at the moment. From jeans to crop tops, spring knits and hair accessories I have found some really gorgeous ways to wear this trend, a rather large selection in fact :)

where to find these pastel trend pieces
baby blue satchel | peach flocked floral dress | heart patch duck egg blue jumper | lilac skinny belt
pink skinny jeans | mint stud handbag | mini rosie headband | light mint bag | blue baroque peplum skirt
pastel leather hair bows | pink polka mobile case | spearmint skinny jeans | lilac converse | mint satchel
lilac whole lotta rosie headband | peach fairtrade handbag | mint high neck crop top | mint crop jumper
pink high neck crop top | mint cardigan | lilac crop vest top | lace mint peplum vest | peach cut out top
grey heart patch mint top | peach burn out skinny jeans | mint high slit maxi skirt

As always there is no short of beautiful bloggers rocking the pastels and these are a couple of favourites. Kavita, what can I say, the girl is beautiful and there seems to be no end of clothes and trends that suit her. I also love Nany in her colour blocking pastel number, someone remind me to pick up a pair of lilac jeans please?

my must haves: mac indianwood paint pot

10 March 2013

This is the first paint pot that I have tried and it definitely will not be the last. Since discovering how amazing indianwood is (and that it doesn't crease!) I now have my eye on painterly and rubenesque. Are there any more that you think are worth a try? Let me know as I'm craving a mac spree soon :)

Great as a base as well as alone, I love the colour and the consistency of of indianwood. It is a beautiful light bronze that works really well with light gold shades and deep browns, rich dark reds and plums - cranberry really. As and when I do wear eyeshadow, this is almost always my base above two faced shadow insurance because it seems to take hold of any eye shadow and make it a better longer lasting colour.

Absolutely a must have for me, have you tried mac paint pots?
