another level of jewellery storage

29 August 2011

I hope you have all had a fantastic bank holiday weekend! I wanted to show you a couple of my birthday presents in a bit more detail, this one especially. So I have taken a good number of photos and hope you like it.
I am awful at guessing presents and giving ideas for christmas and birthday presents but Shaun always seems to pull it off and this year, for my 21st he has chosen incredibly well. My main present is this bad boy, the silver safe keeper. A stand alone mirror and lockable jewellery storage cabinet.

There is a section for every type of jewellery;
drop earrings in the slots on the door
long necklaces hung from the barrel on the door, though you could put bracelets on the barrel I have used it for my uber long necklaces
other necklaces hung from hooks on the door
rings in the 91 slot insert
other, shorter necklaces hung from 12 more hooks. This is where I have a couple of nice bracelets and most worn short / nice necklaces
pouch containing more chunky necklaces from betsey johnson and saras secret.
sectioned shelves where I have mostly large rings, along with watches, bracelets, spare pendants and my troll bead bracelet.

You can see from the photos a full tour of the cabinet as well as pretty much all of my jewellery so if there is anything you see that you want to ask me about, go ahead :) Other than that, I couldn't recommend this cabinet enough, but i'll let the pictures do the talking!

i'm craving.. wine

25 August 2011

No not the drink.. apologies for the missleading title ;) I still haven't found the taste for wine just yet. I am of course referring to the colour of a rich red wine that is popping up all over the high street. This is a colour I have grown to love recently along with my love of orange sorbet and peach. Because of this i'll be dedicating a few craving sessions to these gorgeous colours and new season items. Just a quick one today though as i'm popping off to town any second :)

Is this colour catching your eye as much as it is mine? And did you notice my latest online store obsession? :)

chitter chatter don't matter

15 August 2011

Evening! I hope you're all well. I'm back from my fortnight in Portugal with Shaun and we had a fabulous time! There are a fair few pictures to come if you're interested in seeing them :) And of course whilst out there I celebrated my 21st birthday and have some birthday gifts I can't wait to show you. Plus a few amazing finds whilst shopping out there so you can expect all of these posts in the coming week or so :)

If you can't wait for the next post, I did schedule a couple for whilst away that you may want to take a look at? One includes some entertaining photos, you may agree..

Shaun and I have been living together a year today hence the card and sunflowers :) I absolutely love sunflowers, my favourite flower of all! So it was a lovely surprise when he walked through the door with them this evening. Now in celebration and as a thank you for being a sweetie I currently have a sizable vanilla and chocolate marble cake in the oven. Yummy :)

I announced on twitter earlier today that I am taking a longer break from designing. For this i'd like to put out a massive apology as I know how in demand I am at the moment and I made a number of commitments before going away. These people will be directly contacted in the coming week with a decision/explanation on how far I am willing to carry the project or when I can schedule it for so don't worry just yet. Also, a huge thank you to everyone who has been recommending me left right and centre. You're all stars and I appreciate it 100%! The problems i've got at the moment are as follows and i'm only covering them because I feel you deserve an explanation.. I put too much pressure on myself with projects on, whether it's the number of them at a time or the size. I'm a bit of a perfectionist and I won't stop until the work I do is just that, leaving me with sleepless nights and stressful days. At the moment i'm not charging enough money for what it is that I do, not just for the time taken but the skill set I have and have taken a number of years to develop. But in saying that, I don't currently feel I can raise my prices and still get work. On top of this, after taking a break from working what felt like 2 jobs I am enjoying time to myself, enjoying not constantly working and spending more time with Shaun rather than both being on our laptops. I don't want to sound like i'm having a massive moan and this is a negative thing as I will come back to doing designs. But, before I do so I need to take more of a break, think about things and look at what I do more business minded. I don't know how long this will be for (it's definitely not permanent, I love creating beautiful things) I just wanted to explain to you all why I will be stopping for now.

I'd also like to apologise for my typing.. i'm quite sleepy and realise some of this my seem a bit incoherent!

Hope you are all well! Leave me a comment with an update on you :)

shopping with a difference at

8 August 2011

Hello from portugal! Yes I am on holiday with no internet and so yes this is a scheduled post with a difference. The difference being the man in the photos!

As with my simply beach review I was sent a voucher by to use in order to experience the website in all of it's glory and give my opinion on the site, service and stock. Stock that in theory should be shoes but seeing as Zalando also sell mens items I thought it might be nice for shaun to get a couple of things and so he chose two shirts.

There are 2 main attractions to the site, for myself at least. Firstly.. an unreal amount of shoes!

and of course lots and lots of dresses!

What is not to love about a site that has over 40,000 items to browse through? I mean really.. I could (have and will) spend hours trawling through the site putting pretty things in my basket. Besides the wonderful amount of stock that Zalando have.. including other clothes, handbags, further accessories and more, on using the site there are a number of things that make it fun and easy to use. Shopping = Fun, that's easy. Just like asos, Zalando is easy to navigate in the way that the top two menu's cover all of the obvious sections for Men, Women and Children. Then there are sub sections for every type of shoe, dress, top or anything else with the option to search all shoes etc.. which let's face it if we're looking at shoes we want to take all options into account ;)

I've put together a small and simple list for this section as I feel these points are important and just great for the customer service when ordering online.

Personal checkout system. Somewhat.. Delivery reads: for you.. FREE! Yay that's enough to make anybody ordering a happy chappy :)
Free shipping and free returns. Always a bonus.
 Free Hotline
Home delivery network, not royal mail
Nice Zalando branded boxes to protect purchases
Standard confirmation and updating emails
Option to review purchases and view others reviews before buying

The dark grey selected homme shirt is my favourite, it fits his body so well and much better than I imagined it would having never tried this brand on before. Personally I love it on him, even if it does need a bit of an iron after coming straight out of the packet.

What shaun has to say about his new shirts :

"It fits!! I've never had clothes that have fit me before"

"The blue t-shirt really makes me feel apart of the ocean when i'm out and about on my boat"

"I was exceptionally surprised when the shirt turned up and it had all of its buttons still on"

"But no.. in all seriousness the shirts do fit really well considering they were bought online and this isn't something I ever do. I really like them and i'd like to thank for them."

"The quality of both tops are really good and will last a long time, i'll just have to avoid fixing the car, bike or boat in them!"

Yeah.. I'm betting on the jack jones awesome blue tee getting oil on it first ;) Thanks for reading guys and girls! I hope you are all well :)

So the real question at the end of this post is.. Would you like to see some relevant 'manly' content on here every now and again? We're up for it, but would you like to read it?
