my must haves: burts bees lip balm and hand salve

Burt's Bees is one of those brands that I always linger at and pretty much drool over. Their products are fab and these two are my favourite, I can't fault them except to say I'm sad when they run out.

Let's start with their popular beeswax lip balm. It's a basic that everyone should have and whilst my other favourite lip balm is in a tin I like to have a stick product as well so this is my go to. It's moisturising, non greasy and smells delish! I tend to buy the plain beeswax or honey because they're both not too perfumed and do a great job. I always wear a lip balm under my lipstick and this one works perfectly to keep my lips hydrated whilst wearing lippie. Now that I only use Mac lipsticks it's not as much of a problem but I do find that lipstick can make my lips quite dry by about midday if worn alone. So I use Burt's Bees lip balm as part of the hydrating and 'stay power' process. First I apply the lip balm, then a small amount of elf lip primer and then my chosen lipstick. Perfect.

Then there's the hand salve. This is a product that I only came across because of a gift set I found on feelunique where it came with my lip balm at a discounted price. At first I was surprised at how small the tin was but then I realised why, the smallest amount is needed for a salve. It's not the same as a moisturiser, a hand salve is to target dry areas and give your hands a deeper moisturise. As I often find dry patches like this during the day, particularly around my nails, I keep this handy little pot in my handbag and quickly apply it when I spot something then continue to type away.

If you have a reason why you like these two products or can recommend any other Burt's Bees products it would be great to hear about them. :)
