Indulgence Hair and Beauty

At the weekend I was booked in for my first hair cut of the year and yes that means it had been over 6 months since my last chop, oops doesn't cover it. I have my excuses but they suck so I won't bore you with that, I will however tell you how impressed I am with the new salon I decided to try. The Indulgence hair and beauty salon is pretty close to me so I chose it out of convenience really backed up by a friend who uses them from time to time and I'm so pleased that I did.

The salon is a bit of a hidden gem (for me at least) it has two doors off a relatively busy street and you wouldn't believe how much they have inside when looking at it, I didn't. You name a treatment and they probably do it.. sun beds, hair cuts, waxing, shellac nails, teeth whitening, I could go on but it would take a while. So to test the waters I booked myself in for a shampoo, cut and blow dry then decided to treat myself to an eyebrow and eyelash tint too.

shampoo, cut and blow dry
My hairdresser was fab, she filled me with confidence talking about my hair and explaining how I could get my desirable result without chopping the length which I just assumed I'd have to sacrifice. She was different to other hairdressers I've used before, it's like she knew what I wanted without me really having to say it. She took the weight out of my heavy side parted fringe and the section behind it, softened my blunt layers so that I can grow the short layers out without my hair looking boxy and awful and gave it a general tidy up. I'm so pleased with my soft hair that stays straight for longer and I need to get hold of some Tigi Bed Head Colour Goddess as well because my hair smelt incredible. Thank you Zoe!

eyelash tint
I'd never had my eyebrows or eyelashes tinted before so I didn't really know what to expect but my beautician, Demi, was relaxed and confident and it made me feel the same. She began by applying vaseline under my eyes which is the strangest feeling I think I've ever experienced - the thick, chilled and oily jelly on such a sensitive part of my face felt so bizarre. Applying the tint felt fine, I wanted my lashes as dark as possible and after a little stinging during removal I was and am still pleased with the results. I'd have them done again.

eyebrow tint
The eyebrow tint was the treatment that I was most looking forward to, I wanted to take the hassle out of my brows during the heat we've been having and trial wearing no wax or powder during hot weather to see if I should get them tinted before going on holiday this year, the answer - definitely. I love it, I love how easy and quick it was to get them tinted and even shaped. During the tint Demi said that it will likely pick up the light stray hairs I have around my brows and she was right, they were so big and unruly. Thankfully she offered to shape them for me at the same time and so commenced my first waxing and first ever eyebrow shaping by anyone other than myself. Another weird sensation, hot liquid sat above my eyes and further to that the waxing it self, it stung but then the pain left straight away. It was quick and so was she. I love the results and I'm oddly looking forward to having them done again!

Suffice to say that I will be going back to top up on shaping, tint and hair cut in a month along with any other treats that take my fancy. :)
